Nigeria are the worst team in the group and if they do lose against Iceland they will have no motivation in last match so I do think Argentina can beat them soundly.

Seems like they have a hostile environment within the team. Even Aguero taking stabs at Sampaoli after the game. Toxic shit. What an absolute fucking mess.

This team is just horrible. There is absolutely no cohesion in the defense and mid. Terrible squad selections, terrible formations. Tata Argentina was miles better than this shit. At least he knew a thing or two about defensive stability.

And by the way do you people really wanna see this Argentina team go through? They will get France in the next round then probably Spain, there's only one thing happening when this defence and goalkeeper comes up with that attack, destruction on the same level as Germany vs Brazil.

If Simeone's willing to take the job, he could be their Tabarez. Shaping Argentinian football from inside. They could use a fresh start.

Doubt that happens soon though.

Only hope Messi will be motivated and well next season.

Man this Argentina team is horrible. There is no cohesion and no discernible identity or system. Very difficult for one player to affect a team like this. Sampaoli appears to have no clear plan on how to use Messi.

Sure, Messi doesn't look to be in great form either, but the main problem with Argentina is not him. Roughly half of the starting eleven are painfully mediocre players, highlighted by Willy Caballero who has done two horrific mistakes at both of the first goals conceded in these two matches. In 2014 they at least had some cohesion and a system to fall back on when things got chaotic, as well as a better keeper.

If Iceland wins against Nigeria, there is pretty much no way back for Argentina, due to G/D. Nigeria win then maybe.
Those two late goals they conceded could come back to haunt them.

its probably for the best. Argentina vs Brazil/Germany/Spain would get demolished

Probably better Argentina go out now then advance and get absolutely eviscerated by a big team.

There's no hope or this team, the poison has reached every organ and it's better to pull the plug now than to continue the suffering.

Them getting spanked by France 8-0 or 9-0 on the Knockout stage would be even more humiliating if they advance. Imagine Portugal or Brazil embarrassing them. It is indeed better for them to go out now.
