Segunda B is set-up in a format where some 80 teams are divided into 4 groups of 20. Real Madrid Castilla are in Segunda B Group 2. To qualify for the play-offs they need to end up in the top 4.

In a little over two years Abner Felipe has picked up three serious knee injuries. Real Madrid Castilla's 19-year-old Brazilian defender has now damaged the cruciate ligaments in his left knee.
Abner had only just come back after more than a season on the sidelines with another cruciate ligament injury to the same knee. He had been a regular fixture in recent Real Madrid training sessions due to the lack of a natural left-back replacement for Marcelo.
