FC Barcelona B

I think the strategy is different now with the new Third division format being a higher level than the old Segunda B, while still existing outside of LaLiga.

We can stay at that level and fully focus on youth development so don't really need the experienced forwards of old.

10-15m budget for higher level strikers for example. Now we even have mid range prem shit like Brighton signing big prospects and loaning them straight away out for a year or two. Better be at Barca B with a chance to promote for a season or two than be at a Belgian club on loan for example.

We tried getting young attacker, it was just Gustavo Maia so was a dud.
tbf Spain as a whole aren't good in producing attackers and especially strikers. There is a reason Morata gets starts there at age of 30.
Outside of that the market isn't Barca favor, South Americans will never sell you their attacker for cheap and even if they does the players has better options than Barca B. That is why clubs like City and Chelsea are more attractive, they simply have bigger network and bigger ability to spend on those young attackers (not like they did well for their teams anyway)
Barca has been historically weak in terms of their scouting with rest of Europe, we barely get talents from France, Portugal, Belgium that is worth anything of significance. SA we have much better luck.

Would say it isn't attacker problem, but more of ability to expand that network of scouts across the globe

We've officially signed Nil Ruiz (GK, contract until 2024) and Alvaro Nunez (RB, 2023).

More changes.

Gerard Fernandez Peque has signed with Racing Santander. According to Albert Roge Barca didn't even give him a chance to continue at the club.

After leaving Barcelona, Nils Mortimer is set to sign for Viborg FF, a Danish league team that plays in the Conference League. [@albert_roge& @tjuanmarti] #fcblive

19-year-old centre-back Eric Vega is close to becoming a Barca Atl?tic player. The defender, who was previously in the Barcelona youth academy, will arrive from CF Damm to reinforce the defense.Via: Martinezferran

No idea who Eric Vega is, but high hopes Nil Ruiz ends up good.

Very unlikely for a goalkeeper to be an undiscovered crack at 19, but not impossible.

New Barca Atletic signing. 18 year old Left CB Roman Vega from the Argentina Juniors U20. Will sign on loan for a year with a buy option.

Got that coveted Barca DNA. Look great on the ball so it doesn't matter how he performs off of it.

Looks like a replacement for Ramos Mingo? Although reports are he'll play a LB and given his height that's most likely. Based on this video he has an ok speed but don't know how he's going forward. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In other news, Matheus Pereira is on his way to Eibar according to Sport. No fee but we get 50% of future sale. Makes sense as he's 24 and probably wanted to move on in his career. Will also have a chance to establish himself in Eibar while in Segunda so his transition to La Liga will then be easier if they're promoted.

He was a good servant for Barca B (one of rare swap deals that somehow worked out for us - Alejandro Marques who was the other player involved in swap with Juve has just scored 7 goals for Mirandes in Segunda last year so he could be useful for Barca B as well but not sure he has any longterm future at Juve or that he would make it here - although could be given a chance last season in first team with likes of Abde and Jutgla) and wish him good luck.

I think the reports got his position wrong, and hope so also. Alex Valle is a very solid LB who we should invest our time in.

Perhaps Vega can be developed as a ball playing option, he's the same height as Lisandro Martinez.

Well, we need another LB besides Valle (especially with N'Diaye reportedly also close to being sold to Brugge) and a CB as well so good if he can cover both positions. Just give him enough minutes we can fairly evaluate him and see if it's worth using a buy option at the end of the season.

Assuming Marmol will go on loan (he should as I don't think he has much more to prove in Primera RFEF) we'd only have Chadi Riad and that other Vega kid (whose signing is also not official yet) for the CB position. Still don't know what are the plans with Diego Almeida too. AFAIK he wasn't officially promoted to Barca Atletic yet.

Squad in general is pretty depleted so we probably need at least 3-4 new players - one or two CBs, possibly RB and a DM, maybe a winger as well as pretty sure Abde won't stay in Barca A. for another season.

GK: Tenas, Nil Ruiz (we're ok here)
RB: Alvaro Nunez, Rosanas (injured), Dionkou? (there were reports we want to bring him back but no news about him recently)
CB: Riad, Vega #1?, Vega #2?, Almeida?, Casas?
LB: Valle, Vega #2
DM: Casado, Sanz???/???
CM: Txus Alba, Garrido, Emre Demir, Aranda, Pablo Torre? (if not with the first team)
RW: Ilias, Blanco, Pedrola
LW: Alarcon, Abe (???), Zacarias
ST: Roberto Fernandez, Barbera?, ???

Also, Pereira to Eibar official. As said yesterday - no fee, 50% of future sale. Good luck.

Martin Georgiev has already bid farewell to his teammates and staff at Slavia Sofia. His signing will be made official this week and then the 16-year old centre-back will start the pre-season under Rafa Marquez's orders. [@relevo] #fcblive

I've forgot about this kid although he'll only turn 17 in September so it's more likely after preseason he'll start the season with Juvenil A.

If he end of last season is anything to go by they were playing Ilias as the more AM central role in Xavis system.

Could well be where he is for B team.

Could be but we'll see what plans Rafa has. BTW he should be officially announced by Friday and will become the first foreign manager in Barca Atletic history.

In other news, Kenan Yildiz, former Bayern midfielder who was linked to us a few months ago has just officially signed with Juve.

Alex Carbonell is back. He left the club in 2017. He'll turn 25 in two months so probably a replacement for Pereira as that more experienced midfielder.

Rafa Marquez was officially appointed as a manager yesterday.

Also, Txus Alba, Juanda Fuentes, Ferm?n L?pez, Pelayo Fern?ndez and Mamadou Sa?dou Bah extended their contracts until 2024 and will start preseason with Barca B.
