He made more passes than Rice, Mount, Henderson and Phillips combined. In fact, I can't wait for the day we start appreciating these kind of players more in England.

Still frustrates me to this day we missed out on him. Of course his injury record isn’t great but he is a fantastic footballer when fit.

Rice was not better than Verratti on the ball. Rice was better in this game than his previous games only because he made a few good runs but all tournament and this game Verratti was alot better. Plays the ball forward alot more

Rice had the advantage of advancing into an unset defence when in possession.

Switch the roles around and Rice would poor trying to break down the bus while Verratti would be connecting the counters to the England forwards with ease.

Immense performance last night. Swear he plays about 1 game a month but every time he does he absolutely bosses it. Exceptional player.

Imagine if we sign him in 2017, nd he would be playing in De Jong position because Busqets is holly cow.
