He was rested because Poland were already through. It's possible they've now missed out on the seeded spot in the playoffs, but I doubt it matters too much.

The game against us is the first home match after the ballon d’or ceremony. If he wins it, the presentation to the crowd will be right before and then he’ll send us to EL with 3-4 goals.

Double check this, but I believe Bayern will be playing in an empty stadium due to covid measures.
