Ballon d'Or with journalists from 4th world countries voting makes no sense. The fact that all Spanish speaking countries tend to vote Messi, Asian tends to vote Ronaldo... in smaller countries it's all about marketing and popularity.

Nevertheless, 7th incoming and in a few years no one will remember the circumstances. People will just remember 7 vs 5 and Messi's clear of Ronaldo.

Ref helped us, but they also helped Bayern, they had an offside goal too, taking the game into extra time.

Also, Vidal should have been sent off in the first half.

Not to worry though, Lewandowski will lose out on his 3rd next year, when he has a briliant year again, but there is a world cup and he is from Poland, so yeah.

He'll be the best player in the world for three seasons in a row but end up with zero ballon d'ors. Pain

I think he could get it in 2022 if Bayern wins the CL and there is no clear star from the WC winners but it will be tough

I guess its possible next year if they don't extend Ballon Dor to include World Cup, but the World Cup is basically right after the normal deadline for Ballon Dor, the pressure to extend the deadline will be immense.
