In most European countries it's 50 percent.

But then you have Italy for example that has an exception on foreign players who sign 2+year contracts , where 50 percent of their salary is exempt from taxation

I was about to say that, thank you. Italy made that change recently (a couple of years ago )to encourage investment in football.

Fair enough

That said doesn't matter if we manage salaries as should. Many ways to make this sensible as said on previous page

Definitely overpaid and will important in what position they plan to play him.
As LB he obviously is class, even as CB he can be good depending on tactics.

But the guy thinks he can also play as CM or AM but he is total crap at that.

With Ancelottti new Real coach and him knowing Alaba well he will probably used where he is useful.

His only really good position is LB. He is crap in any midfield position as proven in countless matches for Austria.
Tonight he also demonstrated, that he can be crap as well as a CB.

He's a niche player when not playing LB. Ancelotti certainly needs to do some magic for Alaba to be a major success.

why would madrid sign alaba to play LB when they have mendy

Because he can't play every minute and isn't stunningly reliable going forward while Marcelo is a waste of space.

Not that he was bought to be that.

He's almost definitely going to be expected to play LCB, in a two or in a three at the back.
