Xabi Alonso

He'd be as against Barcelona as Rodgers against Madrid I imagine. Depends who'll show more faith and more quickly give him better starting position, don't think he has tremendous attachment to any specific crest bar the Basques.

Alonso never seemed a die hard Madridista, he just played for yet another big club he liked.

he grew up in Barcelona & his father played for barcelona

Great career growth and development. This is what folk called for Xavi to take as a path.

Leverkusen are in CL places if you table the league since he took over.

Surely will be the Liverpool or Madrid manager in the near future.

Doesn't discredit Xavi achievements. Each to their own. Xavi managed to financially set himself in the Middle East.

But maybe Barca B and/or an entry club in Europe would have developed him managerially more than 4 years in Qatar?

Levels to the game, Xabi ain't Xavi, if he is wants Barcelona he gets Barcelona.

Like zidane & pep got a big club after b team management.

Xabi doesn't have that kinda pull with any club, he's a great player for a couple of teams, but a legend for none.

Going a great job though, will be at a big club soon.

If you discount likes of Zidane that dont really have a position, he is the 3rd best midfielder to have played for RM in 20 years. He's only been here 2 years less than likes of Casemiro and even if not won as much, he's clearly in the pantheon. And in fact he's led his career better than most, never overstayed welcome, managed to bag the best managers to learn from. Cant say he aint a legend of none

Still unproven. Just look how we were talking up ETH before his Man U appointment. Contrast that with how he’s performed to date.

They can keep him.

Given he plays 3ATB and we will likely have 3 LWs while he plays none is already a hurdle he'll have to get over

Almost certain we will go for him if that 15M release clause is true
