Hector Bellerin

Apparently close to joining Sporting to replace Porro. Considering this is all happening and not even one post about it here, that should tell you everything really. He never even felt like a part of the team to me, to be honest. Was just brought 'back home' for some La Masia PR stunt...hopefully we get at least some money though, would be a success to make a profit, just like on Depay. Glad to be rid of him 5 months early, cushions the blow of Alonso's extension at least somewhat.

Why didn't we offer Sporting a straight swap for Porro? :bellerin2::crbust:

He is probably 5th choice RB if all available.

Scary they thought he could add anything in first place really.

Don't think they did. He was literally just another body, since the club feared we were too light in the RB department with Roberto still recovering from injury. His wage proved that, read somewhere he was on something (for football) silly like 10k per month. Honestly don't even know if his wage is high enough to have any bearing on us trying to finally get that registration for Gavi and Araujo's new contract through. Would be nice if it could though.

But he played against Bayern in one of the most important games...

Fair contract, he is not paid at all, got to respect his will to come here to play for nothing.

Nah if 'just another body' then take someone from B team.

No one is signed for first team like that if dont think he can provide something.

He lost his main asset which was pace when he tore his ACL years ago and his other attributes aren't good enough to make up for it his ceiling right now is basically Real Betis which he wasn't too bad for them a season ago.

We fucked around with trying to sign Azpilicueta but he ended up staying at Chelsea and that's probably a good thing because he's declined a lot. Probably went with Bellerin because he was cheap and they thought they could probably get something out of him but he's really been bad.
