Accomplished youth coach that flopped with the main team. Iirc was manager for the Euro2004 group exit, then sacked.

Spain was maybe the worst team of any in the knockout rounds (maybe behind south korea).
Definition of toothless with overhyped players (gavi, pedri) which get bullied by proper football players.

Spain and Barca still think it is 2010.
But this football is destined to fail expect you have 1 in a million players like xavi iniesta busquets

Could be the new Chelsea manager in a few days.

Thoughts? How does he rank in terms of recent Barca managers?

He'll get sacked by December.

Recent Barca managers are a laughing stock, basically all that came after Pep. Xavi not included for now as he is still under assessment.
Lucho was better than others, but he had a monster attack and Xavi bailed him out on that WhatsApp group.
IMO he is at the same level as Valverde(both were the best managers we had after Pep), but had a better squad.

He fits better the mess that Chelsea FC are under the dumby American owners short-term.
He can put some lease on the player power in the dressing room, and utilize to some extent a great squad. He can be good in CL knockout ties for instance.

But let's admit the truth: Lucho is not and never was a builder. He is not among the coaching elite.
His future there won't be long. Max until summer '24, but can always leave earlier due to high competition in EPL and having dumb bosses

I think what Chelsea need right now is someone like Lucho. Yes he’s not amongst the elite, but he’s a strong character capable of managing big name players.

Although, does he speak any English?

Agree, although he won't last long
