It would be 100% legal, and players can't do anything about it.
Deferrals are signed and agreed, and if for whatever reason (clause or transfer) a contract ends with the club, club is not liable to their wages anymore

Then I expect the players not to leave, and would be surprised if they do.

Pique can't be earning around 4m yearly and just forget his massive deferred salary like that, that's their business though, and I'm sure they'll handle it well.

It's not in Pique's hands.
If Xavi plays him less than 35% of games this season, the clause is triggered and he is out.

Busi's contract is expiring, so he is out too

Only Alba can still play hardball.
But I expect him next summer to look for a transfer (2-3 years more at some club) as the salary he would receive there for 3 years will be higher than what he will get from Barca for only 1 season left

Deferrals isn't a new contract, it is money you already earned and you accept being paid by the club later.
Already earned is the keyword.

New arrangement of contracts or whatever you call it, is you renewing and accepting a new contract with different payment plan.

Both can be confused by the media.

In case of Frenkie for example, he signed new contract under Bartomou, so it wasn't Deferrals
In case of Pique, it is simply a case of 2 different cases:

1-Contract signed under Bartou: Basically same as Frenkie, it is new contract overrule old one. If media report is correct then he has a contract that he is accepted, that can be terminated next summer.

2-The money he gave up under Laporta: This isn't clear, and even latest leaks said it is in the dark about it, whether it was Deferrals or paycut.
A-Paycut is an obvious case, he accepted less money.
B-Deferrals: This is a clear outcome, no new contract is signed, but amendment to the payment plan of what he already earned. Regardless of when he leaves, Pique will get his money.

Busquets case is the same, whether it is paycut or Deferral, and if Deferral he will get paid.,


Don't think club is wrong in any case btw, we respected players but we are in shitty situations at times, in case of Frenkie the club see it asa new contract and player will be getting paid his money by another club anyway.

Any deferred contract will be paid in the future as agreed. Doubt those payments can disappear even if the player is no longer at the club. We will probably pay the veterans for years even after they retire, go th US or whatever. Bartomeu mare sure of this.

Any new money to be earned can be paid or not according to how the contract is made, or whether you have options to terminate the contract if some clauses to allow this are met.

Lol hate to say it but he actually bailed us out when he cleared that cross with his header. Only he could have cleared that one with his height. Any other defender would not have been able to.

It's funny how quickly people can turn on a club legend.
Just a shame he overstayed.
Also guaranteed to return as President. It's his No 1 goal when he finish his career but probably when he is in his late 40s

Basically what I said above.
If there is such clause in Pique's contract, his contract can be terminated.
Same with Frenkie if he gets transferred out, he can make no claim to money he agreed on his original contract

I'm not nitpicking but didn't that play start with his cheap giveaway.

So he kind of saved us from himself.
