João Laporta

Not only on his speed.
Alba is underestimated in regards to his ability on the ball.
He can fit like a glove into any top Serie A side for instance.

Problem is he does not seem he wants to leave.
But he can't have it both ways (stay AND be on the same wage).
Even Griezman is willing to take a pay-cut

Griezmann earns 5x as much. Alba has been underpaid relative to the other bums here

Laporta should do the same with our overpaid divas, lol. :boss:

Roque Santa Cruz about ex-Olimpia president Osvaldo Dom?nguez Dibb:

"The president always wanted us to come up to him to pick up our monthly wages. If you hadn't played well that month, he stood up and asked 'What is it you want?' while tapping a machine gun on his desk."

 For some reason, this reminded me about that scene in Home Alone II with the machine gun guy on the TV.

I imagined the scene with Coutinho, Dembele, and Umtiti as the hotel staff on their knees.

We are into August and still barely any progress has been made on our wage cap, which we remain massively over. Javier Tebas says Laporta still hasn't asked him to change the rules to allow Messi to be registered and if we have to ask for an exemption to register Messi it would rightly be seen as very unfair that we would be allowed to register any of our new signings too, given the least that can be asked for us is to try our best to reduce our debt, let alone adding to the debt by signing new players. I really doubt we will manage to get under the wage limit or even close to it. So will Tebas say fuck it and allow everything? There is still a question mark over the future of our new signings.

Bar?a president Joan Laporta again on Ilaix Moriba: “We cannot allow him to be promoted [to the first-team] and then leave. We won't accept that with any player. If he wants to go and it’s because he has other options, he can leave the club”.
If you do not want to renew, we have other solutions. What we don't want are players made at La Masia who don't want to renew. The club is above all

BOLD STANCE
Laporta showing who is the BOSS after years of Barto caving in to any player and agent. So refreshing to witness!
No one above the club

Laporta said yesterday that there won't be a problem in registrating already signed players. He hopes that financial fair play can be extended so they can add some other signings.

I appreciate Laporta is trying a different media strategies but honestly it's such a clear bluff lol, we can't even register Messi and he is trying to talk about incorporating new signings lol

Some tragic stuff

🚨🚨[ @fansjavimiguel🥇] | Barcelona?s audit confirms the club?s suspicions: only 15% of the debt is the fault of Covid-19.

The sensation within the club right now is that the old board purposely mismanaged the club's money in order to make it harder for the new board to take them back to economic stability.

? @fansjavimiguel

The new board led by Laporta is surprised to find that most of the 'bonuses' put in the contracts of the players by the previous board are simply euphemisms for the term. They are so easy to obtain, that they are basically part of the initial fees.

? @fansjavimiguel

There have been questionable payments regarding the 'Espai Bar?a' project done by the previous board. One example is the payment of 1.5M to the club 'Esportiu Laiet?' for the noise and dust disturbances from the construction, before they were even asked.

Stunning!

They're setting the narrative for Messi to leave with Barto getting all the blame for it. Stunning foresight from Rassvet

Seems like a bit of a stretch

The sensation from outside certainly is like that. They could've stepped down a lot earlier, and some decisions that were made seemed more than just incompetent and corrupt.

I don't think it was in purpose to mess with next board, but rather that they didn't try to negotiate anything that would hurt the club after 2021 since it wasn't their problem.
In comparison the club was in much healthier position when Laporta left

But when Laporta had left, and Rosell arrived - everything was done to smear Laporta publicly. They couldn't pay wages but had to take loans to do so etc - then we know the story of the players they bought in the coming years and what they cost...

Laporta is a politician and knows how to handle himself, I don't claim with certainty that he isn't very corrupt - but at least he knows to hide it decently well then. To have ANY trust in Rosell or Bartomeu - even in 2010 or 2015 when they were elected - always seemed so strange to me. They scream corruption, they are villainlike in their whole appearance, and most of the decisions they made only confirmed the suspicion, most of what I was made aware of that they did was just obviously bad for the club.
