FC Barcelona has summoned the media for this Wednesday at 10.30 am in the Ricard Maxenchs press room of the Camp Nou. The club states that it will report on the agreements of the ordinary meeting of the board of directors held this Tuesday and important news could arrive.

The person in charge of appearing before the press will be the vice president of the Institutional Area and spokesperson for FC Barcelona, Elena Fort.

Barto level so far. Horrible first year of presidency with tendency to become even worse.

Pretty awful from Laporta so far. Bad choice of manager. Lewandowski for anything above 40 million is piss poor business. Not Barto level but still poor.

Laporta is good so far.

I would however continue to cut costs and save big spending for next summer maybe.

The interesting players cost an arm and a leg.

This man is Barto part 2. He wants to pay 70 million for Raphina smh. The reason Madrid wins CLs and we don't is they sign the right players (and some wrong ones) but we only sign wrong players. Not one of our signings has worked out. The only reason we won was Messi. They couldn't afford him smh.

But they can afford Raphina etc. Raphina is a good player he is not a great player he is not close to 70 million. They also want to overpay for injury prone Demble.

Ferran Torres and Eric Garcia are not top notch players. Raphina is not top notch. Lewi is good but he is 33 for God's sake. Barto and Xavi have no clue as to signing quality just like Barto. And like Barto it all gets out in the press which means the prices go up.

How come RM can instantly sign any player every big club can but with us it is sich a struggle. Terrible management for years. Buy players like FDJ then try to force them to leave. Never buy good players. And overpay for bad. AND NEVER PAY DOWN OUR DEBTS just keep spending...

Lol. Madrid also signed Jovic and Hazard not long ago. Cherrypicking the hits and airbrushing the misses I see. They have a good rate between hits and misses, but nothing unseen or spectacular. It's just that Barto had a disastrous one, without the doubt the worst spending spree in the history of football. Nothing else comes even close when you see not only the fees but also the wages paid for these flops.

Laporta left the best team in the world when he left, with one major rebuilt done expertly in 2003-04. And another partial rebuild in 2008/09, also done brilliantly (basically Pique, Busi, Dani Alves, Yaya, Mascherano not much later, Pedro not much later, Henry, and others too like Keita, Adriano who were good players).

During this period, we sold and got rid of a number of superstars who had their day at Barca and were starting to stink up the place. If Bartomeu was in Laporta's shoes, he not only keeps Ronaldinho and Deco, but he gives them huge money. And we get Amigo Barca back in 2008-09, 10 years sooner, and probably takes away Messi's best years as a result.

By comparison, Bartomeu never did any actual rebuild (look at the managers he appointed lol, puppets that could keep the stars pampered and happy). He relied on the same team core in his CL win in 2015, with Pique, Busi, Mascherano, Dani Alves, Iniesta, and Messi + 2 galactico signings that worked (Neymar briefly as he left us at his peak). When Neymar left Bartomeu imploded because the man had no idea how to build a successful club other than spending huge money (that the club could not afford as it turned out) over and over again and praying.

I would have liked to see the current Barca board having the funds to sign players the way the other top teams do. Oh... no... Raphinha is 60m.

Don't you see many top teams are after him? Bayern, Liverpool, and Chelsea are or were heavily linked with him. 3 of the last 4 CL winners. That's the money you have to pay to sign very good players these days.

Most of this should be in the Alemany topic. Laporta did well to step aside and let him handle the (transfer) business. That's the mark of good leadership.

Barto in comparison installed a puppet in Abidal and still took most decisions  I remember the reports about our technical staff advising against signing Griezmann and our dear president said nah, fuck it and signed him anyway

True. Alemany and Xavi are most directly responsible, finances aside (although finances as it appears are a tough hurdle to jump over). But under a crap President, the right people never come together and the star players end up running the show.
