The only reason any of us are watching anymore is to see how long this trainwreck's possible right. Even if I lived in Barcelona only way I'd go to watch in person is if I were paid to do so.

Xavi is like Colby Covington. Talks a lot of shit and delivers results. But the game is ugly right now.
If we wanted to watch dreadful football we would watch Madrid or chelshit instead.

Let's see what he does with a full pre-season and summer transfer window. He's been pretty average so far imo. A mixed bag. Finishing in the top 2 and the Clasico win was very good. The Europa league exit was shameful. With the players we have and the January signings we should have at least made the final and win it. We were not inferior to any of those teams at all. Losing at home against likes of Rayo, Cadiz and Villareal was a disgrace. Not sure what happened there. Most likely out coached. If i were to rate him i would give him a 5/10. The bar should be much higher next season.

We lost to a team that eventually won the Europa league under unsual circumstances where stadium for hijacked. It happens.

Xavi was a genius as a Midfielder and one of all the all-time GOAT Midfielders to grace the game and had the pleasure to play under the likes of Pep, Aragones, LVG, Rijkaard, and Lucho and played alongside many players with some being some of the greatest in their retrospective positions as well.
But it's not given he will ever make it as a top-level manager. Right now Xavi has gone backwards, there was a period we flipped a switch and things were heading in the right direction, but it wasn't going to last forever, teams were always going to start to notice and change things up and this is where Xavi needed to be on his toes and keep up with it, and instead he did very little to combat it and instead stubbornly pressed on with some awful tactics where our forwards are miles apart and there's little to no Midfield influence on the game, no attempts at combining and hardly much chance creation.
We signed both Kessie and Christensen, whom he apparently played a part in making the effort to get them but rumors are he decided against getting Mazouri but thinks our fullback issues could be solved by signing the likes of fucking Marcos Alonso and an aging Cesar Azpilicueta. One who is only a year younger than that mentally challenged squirrel dipshit we have starting at LB and is nowhere near as good and the other hasn't been a good effective RB in years and is more of an RCB these days.
We'll be going into next season with the same old shit I bet, with some of the worst set of fullbacks we ever had and Busi somehow still being a starter while we bin off FDJ, and buying Zubimendi who will probably play like what a maximum of 10 games in a season because Xavi refuses to rotate Busi half the time.

Xavi has to choose between the rejects and free agents. What you want him to do? He can't get kounde koulibaly halaand the players he wants. We can't even keep dembele.
Mazouri sounds good but between araujo and dest who refuses to leave we got that covered. Other positions are a priority.

There's a real air of resignation surrounding Xavi and Laporta. Both seem to be looking for scapegoats instead of assuming responsibility and driving forward. Koeman did this and was crucified for it.
Leadership starts from the top and the president and coach should set an example.
Laporta and Xavi have both not confronted the elephant in the room: the amigos. Get these guys out and the youngsters will be able to express themselves. At the moment they look stifled and hesitant. Also it's Xavis job to motivate and create the intensity. If he can't do that he should quit. Pretty Strange to see Laporta hang the team out to dry. He should be having a look at the manager first and having a chat with the players for feedback about Xavi.
I just don't have confidence in these two at the moment. They are trying to grapple with the reality of the new Barca but they came from the old, glorious era. I don't think they can handle the transition. More pain ahead of us for sure. This is not a two or three season transition,it will take longer.

Nostalgia is a b*tch.
