Where though? Some midtable team won't do him any good and seeing him for the likes of Tottenham, Sevilla or Dortmund would feel seriously wrong (not that any of them would be realistic). I want us to show confidence.

No problem with these teams unless he only wants big teams in his CV like Pep. Barcelona next season is good too but still too early.

Agreed. Some midtable team would be useless for the style of football he wants to play. Not enough quality personnel.

Can see PSG trying to hire him if Barca don't go for him. Pochettino is mediocre and there won't be many World Class managers available for them so they might bet on him. Obvious Qatar links too.

:puke: Damn that's a nightmarish possibility.

Only if he succeed there and we end up with another mediocre manager.

Chances of us getting an elite manager is close to zero IMO. Maybe they'll go for ten Hag, but not a guarantee he'll accept the offer. Ajax are in a great position and he's enjoying it there.

Barca right now is a falling giant trying to rebuild and get back to a good level. Not the most attractive job tbh.

I don't think he should take the job even if given to him, that club is a meat grinder of managers because they always give power to their superstars when push comes to shove. They don't need a manager with a vision unless they change their approach to the sport altogether, which the Qataris won't do probably.

The Barca job is not that bad. The expectations are lower than ever. And with how crap Koeman has us playing this season, the prospect of improving us might not be as hard to achieve for a top managaer.

Manchester City post Pep would be quite a good fit for Xavi. Dortmund too, but they just got a new manager in Marco Rose, so they'll stick with him for a while. Don't see good options in Spain except for Barcelona.

If he rejects a Barca in need (granted we offer him the position) to coach some oil teams as his first job, he's dead to me

That's the issue according to most reports.

Laporta simply doesn't want him even if most of the board are in favour.

Maybe Laporta is a bit delusional and he thinks he can attract a top manager. But then rumors like Roberto Martinez don't make sense. That guy is not a top manager.

If Barca make a firm offer, he's here imo.

So he only wants to coach wealthy clubs. Very likely because from the way he talks, he wants to spend big to get top players in every position.

Wonder if Barca can offer any.

Pochettino is still better than Xavi. One in Europe coaching PSG, one coaching Al Sadd. Don't know why they will pick him over Poch.

Probably because Poch is way out of his depth. If he doesn't turn it around soon he'll probably get fired after New Year.

Delusion running riot in here from Xavi fanboys

Some facts:
1) There is 0% chance Nasser will make an offer to Xavi for the PSG job. LOL
One must be out of touch with reality to think that

2) Poch is RIGHT NOW in a different coaching stratosphere compared to Xavi.
Xavi is currently a coaching toddler and Poch is a coaching giant.
It's such a disrespect twds Poch (and less an admiration of Xavi) to make the comparison

3) Not only mid-table European teams are good fit for Xavi's coaching path, but they are the ONLY avenue that will NOT burn his card.
Clubs like Villareal, Sociedad, Valencia, Sevilla in Spain are the clubs that can show if Xavi is to be given a chance in a top top team like Barca
In those clubs, you don't judge by titles, no one does
You judge by football played and if the team given their personnel and budget limitations achieved well or over-achieved.
