This. Bet if they gave De Boer the Barca job right now , he would start all these players too. Seen it too many times where these guys talk big and the moment they get the job , they end up caving after 1 month.

It's not even about De Jong, it's about Busquets being Busquets. Same could be said about others as well, but Busquets has the biggest impact and is completely untouchable basically since Pep days. Last DM we bought was who, Song in 2012? Dude doesn't even know what competition is at this point.
And he's gonna be 34 this summer, it's normal to get phased out at that age. Yeah he was never fast, but by that logic we could play him until he's 60. Even the little physicality he had in the past get's worse and worse all the time and he doesn't even get rest because apparently we don't need a plan B for DM at Barca.

But De Boer didn't claim he would do better as Barca coach, niether non of the fans.
He simply talked what should a good SD/Coach do.
What about Busi games for Spain in the Euro?
Are we putting that down to the level of international football being lower. Because bar a few breaks with transitions he was largely great.
The whole Spain team passed with speed, were condensed and pressed as a team. 3 things Barcelona miss and I dont think they can be put on Busquets.

Wait for JamDav to tell you how all teams at international level just let Busquets play and don't pressure him enough.
Busquets is not our main problem, given the circumstances right now. Would be nice to have a younger, more athletic guy there who can play the role well, but we don't.
Ronald de Boer was also talking about the Cup game vs Bilbao where Frenkie was passing straight to opposition players?

We can argue that a better team will make Busquets usable, and that is fair point.
But do we have the time for it? He is 34 for summer and we are unlikely to build such team next year.
Waiting to build a team that suits 35+ years old DM is insanity.
He simply doesn't fit us short or long term

It's possible to compensate for any player. After all even this version of Busquets isn't just some bum, he still has qualities. But if this is possible right now and next season AND if it's worth it to try build with 34yo Busi is a different story. It's not Messi that got us 50 G+A in exchange for no legs, it's Busquets.
NT also don't have to play 50 games a season, so depth suddenly becomes way more important. In case of Busquets' position there are no alternatives because apparently we only can play that one specific skillset of Busi there and he starts every game so just never bothered to buy anyone.
We don't have to kick out Busquets, but for the love of god don't just make him a 100% secured starter for as long as he wants to stay. Xavi scenario would be ideal imo.
