A needed wake-up call so we don't take things for granted. Also, fatigue was probably a factor too since we played two days ago.

Nah, just being tired after playing Copa final not even 48 hours ago and also playing without Lieke and Caroline.

Vicky Losada is close to joining City.

Besides Ingrid Engen we're close to sign another player from Wolfsburg, Swedish winger Fridolina Rolfo. She's scored a goal that eliminated us in CL semi-final two years ago and is coming in to possibly replace Asisat Oshoala.

Another new possible signing mentioned by Sport - Sakhina Karchaui (LB, 25). Her contract with Lyon is expiring and Barca is one of three favorites to sign her besides PSG and Chelsea.

Looks like the nouveau riche of women's football are picking apart the old powerhouses like Wolfsburg and Lyon? Of course, they are not going away at all.

Lyon's dominance in France is over after 14 consecutive domestic league titles.

PSG have won their first league in history.

The new women's Champions League is here. The 21st edition of the top European club competition, the 13th since it has been played under this name, kicks off in July with Barcelona defending the crown and a format renewal in which the group stage, the expansion of teams and the increase in numbers stand out. the awards.

The Group Stage will consist of 16 teams in total and will be divided into four groups of four teams. Barcelona have their place assured as current champions, as do PSG, Bayern Munich and Chelsea as champions of France, Germany and England, along with Spain, the countries with the best UEFA coefficient. In addition to these four powers, seven teams from the champions route and another five teams from the League route will enter this phase from Round 2.

Lyon wants Aitana. They are willing to pay up to 0,5m (world record transfer fee) and give her 3x higher wages but she wants to stay. Her contract is expiring next season though. Lieke, Alexia, Jenni, Mariona and Mapi Leon are also on expiring contracts.

Really hope we can keep core of this team together for the next few seasons but it will be tough. Especially with Lyon wanting to go back on top and clubs like PSG and Chelsea also ready to invest more and more.

The fact that women's club football in Spain will go professional will make it harder for clubs to retain some of their best players as there will be bumps in wages (deservedly) and other increases due to professionalization. Hopefully soon we will see the benefits of professionalization as well with more sponsors and higher TV money etc. We need to retain our core players, especially like Aitana (future of the club) and current legends like Lieke and Alexia and stars like Jenni.
