True

Alos, imo, a lot of people here remember Etoo mostly from Pep's days where he was good, but imo NOT as good as 2004-2006 Rijkaard's Etoo.
And during Pep, he started to miss tons of chances.

Anyway, Etoo's Champions league goals. He was really fast in his first years at Barca:

For the last month of the trebble season he missed a lot of chances but not for the entire season. However you're right when you say his best Barca days were 2004-2006..

Eto'o's best personal seasons are the 2010/2011 one with Inter and the 2003-2007 ones with Mallorca and Barcelona.
After the knee injury in 2007 he was not in his prime anymore, yet he still managed to be decisive and clutch AF in the 2009 Treble season, mainly as a finisher.

But prime Eto'o was much more than that: he could play anywhere upfront and could dribble, score and assist with ease.

That's why his 2010/2011 season with Inter has been incredible: it is as if he was back to his mid 2000s physical prime, he scored, assisted and dribbled for fun and carried a basically finished team (yes, post-Treble Inter was a team full of finished (once top) players and which was starting to be filled with mediocrity (Kharja, Ranocchia, etc.)) to further success while breaking team scoring and assists records in the process.

I agree with you when you say Eto'o's prime was 2003-2007 and 2010-2011. But don't reduce his 2008-2009 season which was amazing for any other striker. Even with Pep, Samu was much more than a simple finisher. The difference was the fact that he lost his pace and didn't try individual efforts as much as before. He still was with no doubt the best striker in the world.

Suarez 13/14 is better than any version of Eto'o by large margin. Suarez 15/16 had like 81 G+A. Sorry Eto'o.

And i don't even mention World Cup performances. Suarez 2010 alone is enough to settle this discussion.

Big bad Sam every day of the week. Love Suarez, but Eto'o for me is probably the best and certainly the most clutch striker we ever had.

Suarez because he was top dog in the two most powerful leagues - EPL and LL.

Plus Eto'o seems to be a despicable human being off the pitch.

Suarez is a level above Eto'o. Probably the best player alongside Henry and Xavi to never win the BdOr.

Suarez was easily the better/more talented player, but he was really underwhelming in the CL considering the quality he had.

Eto'o much better there.

Suarez was closer to the BdO. It's a disgrace he wasn't top three along with Messi and Neymar. Ronaldo had no business being on the podium in 2015.

GREATEST NO. 9 IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND OF COURSE

In his prime: Suki. He had some incredible FKs, Lobs, Long shots and such stuff that Eto'o - although fantastic player - could only dream of...

Eto'o in 2006 deserved the ballon d'or and he was closer than any version of Luis Suarez, same in 2009 he was the only contender to Messi.

Suarez can't dream to be as instrumental as Eto'o was for his teams especially FC Barcelona. Eto'o is clearly more talented on the ball and faster, he used to touch more balls and combined better than Suarez. Suarez never did what Eto'o did with Mallorca in his prime. Eto'o was Vinicius + Benzema, a dribbler Suarez has never been and a very prolific striker. The dribbling ability puts Eto'o a level above and to end this debate once and for all : Can anybody mention a legend or a great coach who said Luisito could cet a ballon d'or ? The greatest individual honour ! No. But a lot of people still think today Eto'o had to get it at least once, especially in 2006 after our trebble with Eto'o playing his best personal football, making stats and showing up in the greatest stages.

El pistolero is a great player, Samuel Eto'o is a legend. I'm back.

Neither but Suarez had a balon d'or season on his own, given he ghosted with Atletico. Then fat and diving made me hate him and I was a fan of him from Ajax
