I've thought he already had a thread but couldn't find it.

We have a 35m first option on Angelo. I wasn't too high on him initially and still have some doubts but looks he's developing well. Already has 5 assists despite only establishing himself as a starter in last two weeks.

He'll turn 18 in two months and can leave Brazil then. We'll probably lose him if we won't make a move in January as there is interest from other clubs. If Barca really rates him highly we should cut our losses with Ferran and arange transfer for next summer then see what to do with him.

He still looks raw so not sure if he's ready to make a step up to the first team immediately but OTOH don't think we're in a position to spend pretty big money for a future signing to send him on loan for a season or two (which would probably be better for his development). Another (minor) problem is while he can play as LW he's better on the right where we already have Dembele and Raphinha but tbh wouldn't mind cashing on Dembouz either (unlikely to happen though as Xavi loves him but he's just driving me crazy with his inconsistency and decision making) and go with Raphinha and Angelo as his understudy.

Think he will cost way less than those 35M if we move quick tbh, just like Kaiky
Would sell Ferran & Abde, move Dembele to LW and get Angelo to be Raphinha back up

He doesn't have great pace or acceleration unfortunately. From the match summaries it is like watching Trincao run.

Aye. He has decent pace but nothing elite for the top level in Europe. A bit like Malcom pace.

Watched a few Santos games earlier in the season and he is a smart tricky player but not that impactful. Glad he's getting some assists now.

I think we miss out on him because he is still a project unlike Neymar or Vini (check his, Rodrigo and Gabriel Jesus numbers, that's what you need for a reliable top level move to Europe).

But two years time, may end a very good player who going to cost 60m+ if an Ajax or Dortmund develop him.

Santos FC have accepted an offer of €12M for 50% of 18 year old winger Angelo’s rights from Flamengo, on whom Bar?a have a preferential buy option and right of first refusal. The player has not accepted Flamengo’s offer yet. [@joaquimpiera] #fcblive

Flamengo spent 36m+ in the last market.

Santos are pretty broke. Bad timing for us, wanted to see if Angelo adds output this season.

We won't match imo. All in on Roque Jr.

tbh, seems like a good move for the kid, as he is too raw for top leagues or even in Europe. Kaiky who was his teammate and much more ready is a bench player in Almeria.
Only downside to him, is that with such big deal he will unlikely be sold in Europe unless it is massive offer

He could still turn it down. Effectively means we could offer 20m and get him which is chomp change.

Wouldn't recommend us doing that right now mind you given what he has shown.

For what it's worth there are conflicting reports on the Flamengo offer. Some are saying 50% of rights, other sources are saying 100%.

If it's the latter then we have to sign him, considering top tier PL teams are now interested.

Also

The reluctance of ?ngelo's staff is not specifically related to Flamengo , but leaving Santos to continue in Brazilian football was not his initial desire. There is an understanding that the best path for the boy's first negotiation is Europe, regardless of the good conditions offered by the Rubro-Negro.

Makes sense.

Perhaps a move to a Portuguese club would be smart. If one of Sporting, Benfica, Braga or Porto are interested that might be his best move.

Tru but OTOH it's easier for offensive players to make an early impact than CBs where you need more experience.

There are ofc some exceptions to the rule (like a young De Ligt at Ajax) but there is a reason why you usually don't see as many teenage CBs getting serious minutes in big clubs compared to midfielders or forwards.

Doesn't mean Kaiky can't/won't develop into a better player than Angelo longterm (although ofc hard to compare CBs and wingers) but I think Angelo would probably adapt to European football faster. Depends mostly on choosing the right club though as it's usually the case with youngsters. Playing regularly at his age is required and lot of players didn't fullfil their potential after moving to the wrong club where they didn't get enough minutes to develop.

0G/A in 10 games since the start of the year. Not good form heading into the new season. Without the Barca link then 12m is probably his actual market value. Still a market opportunity at that price though considering he has raw talent and Newcastle and Arsenal being the latest to be linked.

But as for now he should be in that Marquinhos, Savio, Luiz Henrique, Gabriel Veron, Matheus Martins price bracket of 6-14m unless he explodes imo.

But 20m would be stretching it. At that range you got to get more proof of success in Brazil like Vitor Roque.
