A nice goal vs Elche would have been a good chance to loosen him up a bit.

Xavi's logic is the season is long and rotation is needed to keep players fresh. But the nightmare CL group should have changed this approach. October is gonna be key for us, and players still don't get much continuity in the same formula. It is a mistake.

Don't think it's smart so early into the season. Plenty of new players and young guys in the squad. We obviously lack chemistry. Especially visible in defence.

Xavi is playing an inventor. Over rotating as hell. And then he starts Depay (who will leave) instead of Fati (who needs to start playing).

Well it's a gamble because against this Real we can't afford to drop any points as they will surely continue to pick them up.

We're in a title race now not an experimentation period so these things have to be done on-the-go and with great judgement.

However, Memphis tends to score against bottom half teams and indeed won us a lot of points that way last season so I'm not too mad he starts. Just keep him out in the important games.

Rafinha and Dembele are only good on the right. He tries someone on the left as well. I would play Rafinha, but Xavi knows better and he loves Dembele.

Depay playing closer to lewa like Torres does should be good,if he's asked to do winger things he may struggle a bit.

Yup, but having 5mil net a season forward basically obliges you to start him.
