With that W Sociedad move 7 points clear in 3rd place. The club is onto something for the future and the new Anoeta stadium looks fantastic. Included in the 2030 WC Spain-Portugal bid.

Have to say I have a soft spot for Sociedad.

Clearly one of the best organized clubs in La Liga (probably second best after Madrid) and results show that.

Second youngest team in the league with good academy (they introduce at least one or two youngsters to first team every year), smart transfers and a homegrown coach who plays quite good football and is beloved by the fans. Financially they are also stable AFAIK (at least compared to most La Liga clubs). Wouldn't be too surprising if they would establish themselves as a top 4 team over next 2-3 years. Getting CL money would also help them to develop further as compared to likes of Atletico, Betis and including Barca they don't need that money to just "survive".

Simeone should probably move on after this season. Don't think he has it in him to make a comeback with them when he keep burning through every player they sign or keep requesting some of these overrated or bad players. He's been their manager for so long. It's unprecedented nowadays. Ferguson and Wenger were the last ones who were in their jobs for 10+ years.

Would like to see what someone like Marcelo Gallardo could do with them.

A. Correa is so underutilized by Simeone and has been mostly good for the games that he started. He needs to go to another club if Simeone continues after this season.

For De Paul, he definitely needs to move if Simeone stays.
