Likes of VVD would be a huge loss to anyone and the drop from him to then playing likes of Nat Phillips is huge.

Barca beat Real away without a Pique/Araujo pairing, beat Valencia away without it and they are not failing to score v likes of Cadiz due to those two not being at the back.

The tactics in last few been biggest issue.

The point is you lose your best CB (in our case Pique or VVD for Liverpool) and you don't only suffer in defence. The offence/midfield/whatever can easily fall apart from the back. Like Liverpool last season, who looked like shit offensively.

Tactics are overrated as well. Cohesion, rhythm and intensity are key.

But those two are heavily influenced by tactics though

It's not like Pique has been any better in the type of games we had against Frankfurt. He's often been just as shit as the other senior players that are often pointed out.

Just take a look at Liverpools last season for the importance of CBs.

But apparently Xavi has lost the plot tactically.

Well it's both.

The defense is the reason we gave up so many chances. Tactics is the reason we made nothing in attack.

Combination of the two made us lose vs Cadiz. Xavi needs to sort it out tactically but will be heavily aided by return of Pique Araujo.

Were Liverpools tactics shit last season? Because they didn't look half the team offensively.

Where the heck was the intensity earlier?! This is the intensity we beat Madrid 0-4.

We got super lazy after international break.

I truly believe its the small details that ruin your game, and they can happen quickly. Nothing to do with intensity or "mentality". The latter is the worst buzzword in football.
