'The UNHCR logo will appear on the jerseys of FC Barcelona?s first men's and women's soccer team and on that of the Bar?a Genuine Foundation team from July 2022 (it will be located on the back of the jersey, below the player's number).

This is part of an agreement reached by the FC Barcelona Foundation with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and Spain for UNHCR which over four seasons, will entail a cash contribution of ?400,000 per season for four projects (?100,000 per project and one per continent) plus an in-kind donation (valued by the club for ?100,000 per season) of FC Barcelona sports equipment , as well as the technical expertise of the FC Barcelona Foundation?s sports specialists.'

Can tell this was a tough decision to make (even if for a good cause), to pay money for something that doesn't give anthing in return, except for a bit of PR.

They even threw in 100k worth of equipment an services that'll most probably cost much less than that for the club, just to increase the value of the donation on paper.

I guess they saw that 1m donation Madrid made and did their best.

We were paying UNICEF between 1.5m and 2m every year in the past (not sure about the last couple of years when we had steep losses), this is obviously down from that amount but still a good contribution for a great cause. Mes un que Club.
