Ronaldo/Messi declining doesn't mean the coaches can't be bad at the same time.
Pirlo just isn't anything special, its that simple.

at least ronaldo has a decent excuse: he is 2 years older, surrounded by a mediocre squad, and plays in an infinitely tougher league
