Napoli was beast at the beginning of the season but getting slowly to their usual form and the match is in 2 months so xavi has enough time to improve. Its a must win.

A lot can happen between now and February we do seem to be playing a bit better every game. Wer also doing it with a thread bare squad. Hopefully come January we can get a few players in to help us push on

Imminent humiliation is better. If you beat Napoli, that will give you a lot of mental strength to win it all. This is basically the semi final IMO.

Whoever wins this, will have a high chance to be in the final. My prediction.

I don't see a loss as a humiliation, currently we are simply below the level of Napoli. And I don't think there is that much time for us to make things work and improve all of sudden, even with a few injured players back (question mark) and potential additions in January (HUGE question mark). If we somehow start playing better and making some gradual improvement but still lose to Napoli, I will still be content.

Exactly, it might be humiliation for casual fans, who think Barca will win easily Europe League, which is not the case at all. We Barca fans know the real level of this team! We are terrible, no other way to say it. We are not even favorites to win EL, but I am sure sportsbooks lists as a favorite.(joke!) We are getting overrated for our level.

itll also depend on the way we lose. youre right: if we lost say 2-0 on aggregate or 2-1 it wouldnt be a humiliation

but i am afraid we are likely to concede at least 3 over 2 legs. i reckon anything 4+ is a humiliation.

for example Real in 2008-9 was inferior to barcelona, no doubt, but the 2-6 was still a humiliation by the sheer maginitude of the scoreline. the 5-0 was prob a bigger humiliation because Real had a strong team then

in other words: if mAts does what MATS does (i.e. concede baskets of goals in europe) it may well be a humiliation

At some point you simply can't get humiliated any more and we're already way past that point.

I mean look at this season, look at the squad, look at the financial disaster, look at what happened in CL for years already...how much worse can it get? A loss vs Napoli is nothing in comparison

i dont know, EL football + humiliation there would be a new low for me as a barca fan ):

In positive light: there's not much we can mess up more. Confederations league? Sure or not even making it to EL or Confederations league.. hah

Soon most of the people will just feel bad for us. At some point seeing us lose isn't even funny anymore it just becomes sad.

People will not get tired of us losing like that and won't have pity on us.
Remember the cl draw, where the president of a club started laughing because his team was picked in the same group with us and he instantly knew they were fucked.
Well, it's payback time for all those teams we humiliated back in the day.
2 months is a long time, we have to wait and see if the team somehow clicks or sinks even lower.

We have been laughing stock for years now. Meme after meme. You can even see Bayern players advising us at this point. After first game it was Neuer and now Muller.

They feel bad for us and usually they love trashing us, but even to Bayern it doesn't feel much anymore to beat us. We just suck.
