It's pretty clear by now that Vavlerde and Abidal never got on, Valverde was at odds with Abidal and the latter tried to get EV sacked.

His signings were a mess as he tried to give us a French core, with flops such as Griezmann, Lenglet, etc. Refused Valverde's request for a left back and imposed signings such as Malcom on him.

Picked fights with the squad, particularly by criticising Messi which Messi called him out for.

I think he's one of the biggest reasons we are in the mess we are in now.

Just goes to show being a great player does not make you a great person or sporting director - he has turned out to be pretty crap at both. Of course, he was hired as a yes man by the corporate clown that is Bartomeu in the first place

All but confirmed that he was having an affair with Hamraoui - likely explains the theory the attack involved Abidal's wife/family
