South American football's governing body Conmebol said in a statement: "By decision of the match referee, the match organized by Fifa between Brazil and Argentina for the World Cup Qualifiers is suspended.

"The referee and the match commissioner will submit a report to the Fifa Disciplinary Committee, which will determine the steps to be followed. These procedures strictly adhere to current regulations.

Argentina, who have another game on Thursday against Bolivia, have high-tailed it to the airport.

It appears harsh on Brazil, if Argentine get the 3 points. Surely, the 4 Argentine players should have been arrested.

lol, Anvisa (the Brazilian Health Org. who had one of its representative invade the pitch) accused the U-23 manager Batista for falsifying the documents of the entry of the 4 PL players.

Batista was in the States with his friend and came directly to Argentina during that time and was never in Brazil or Venezuela.

Tottenham duo Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso ignored the club's wishes not to meet up with the Argentina squad and are facing club fines on their return after being released by their national team. DM

If Argentina get the 3-0 win, FIFA rules state that the goals will be awarded to the team's highest scorer: Messi (Ole)

Lewy punching the air right now.

Anyway, this would be a comedic hat trick for Messi. I'd rather he doesn't get free goals.
