Last appearances for Marcelo and Isco, good applause, as it should be.

Marcelo is a club legend, one of the best, Isco not quite that, but contributed well enough for 2-3 seasons.

Edit : another legend on, Joaquin.

Dont think NT has anything to do with it.
Dude lived in Madrid for 14 years, team is happy to have him about and he's happy to be getting 3-5 starts per year at this stage in his life
If he's just a mascot on 1M per year, no problem

Sad times for La Liga..

Neither Barca or Real can attract Haaland, Mbappe choses to stay in France, Touch quit possibly going to stay in France ahead of Real, Barca struggling to sign players from EPL clubs that avoided relegation on last day of season, Sevilla losing player to mid table EPL teams in Villa, Kamara turning down CL football with Atletico to play EPL football with Villa, Atletico after losing starting RB to Newcastle.. possibly about to lose their LB to them, Kounde wants to play for Chelsea..

Plenty more than that as well.

The league overall is in steepest declince can remember despite Real finding way to CL final and there seems no way out of it and going to get worse and worse.

Real and Barca can find ways to be competitive in CL but it wont be to anywhere near same frequency in the past... the rest of league is getting cherry picked and devoid of any real talent for long.

All that on back drop of majority of teams agreeing to give up hundreds of millios of tv money over next 40 years through CVC deal and not even one season in and they are struggling financially.

La Liga is becoming a backwater and outwithe top 3/4 even worse than other leagues used to mock like Germany/France etc.

Yeah, and Tebas is more worried about PSG than fixing his mess.

He's by far the biggest culprit for current situation. Had a decade of Messi and CR playing in their prime years (and a few years of Neymar as well) and couldn't capitalise on that. Imagine if just one of them would play in PL in past decade, let alone both of them then probably EPL clubs would be getting at least twice as much TV money than they are now.

Didn't Villarreal just make it to the champions League final? Hasn't Madrid won a majority of CL over the past decade?, even a shitty Barcelona made it two CL SF, Sevilla always represents themselves well in Europe.

Competitively it's not as bad as some folks make out, who always try to praise EPL and make it seems as if la Liga is some dog crap football league even though the facts would say different.

Sure no one can compete with epl financially, but that's like saying Larry page can't compete with Elon musk financially, its staying the obvious, just saying something for the sake of it..

So competitively it's no where as bad as some folk make it out to be, where the distance is massive is commerically and thats were the idiot tebas is fucking up, talking shit about the French league only getting 70m for their international broadcasting rights, while la Liga made a billion, but ignores how the EPL is eating everyone for breakfast and is is doing nothing new & interesting to close the gap, he is a man that likes to punch down to make himself look good, but he fails to really move the needle.

Instead he is using is own personally vendetta against Barcelona to try & bury them deeper in the hole they are already in, actively trying to destroy one of if not your biggiest money maker is the dumbest shit I've ever seen from the head of any league do.

So go conclude, la Liga teams through good transfer tragedies, good talent base, good coaching if not name broad coaching, is not as far off competitively as some folk would like to have us believe, facts just doesn't bare that out, only fake news does.

But commercially la liga is fucked and is Not help by the man who is suppose to be fixing it.

PS some ppl who are now talking about the cvc deal being bad are the same ones who were saying it's not that horrible when news first broke.

Villareal did well to get there but wont be repeating it any time soon.

Just as Rangers went further in Europa League than Barca/Sevilla etc but they wont repeat that either. Just like Lyon got to a semi final. Was never going to be sustainable.

La Liga is sliding badly despite Real getting to CL final and even if they win it. Real/Barca can still find ways to be competitive in CL just wont happen nearly as often as I said.

The CVC deal for likes of Barca if can use money well could work out... for other teams still losing players and having no money with 40 years of income given up.. not great.

La Liga is in for a very hard time in years to come and it starting to bite hard this summer.

The quality in league is dross compared to others outwith top few and as boring and lacking quality as ever has been.

If both leagues should play reach other home and away position for position, the series would end pretty evenly, if anything I'd put my money on la liga to edge that 20 game series.

City vs mardid as we all saw would be close.

Liverpool would destroy us
.
Chelsea vs atletico could go either way depending on the day.

Spurs vs Sevilla same as above but spurs have the edge.

Once you get out the top 4 it's more about names for the EPL with players & coaches but on the field, LA Liga teams would edge most of the upper to mid table clashes.

La Liga teams in that area, have always pushed above their weight class and that hasn't change, don't see it changing either.

But if the money keeps running & tebas keeps doing jack shit, it may will become more difficult, but the difference won't be huge.

I don't often agree with JamDav but he is right. LaLiga is on a decline and run by a moron.

Hopefully Spain gets lucky with new golden generation because that's probably only way they can compete vs ridiculous amount of money in PL, sheiks etc.

And we are financially ruined and have nothing to use for transfers. Clubs can't work without buying new players.
