The defending on that...

Shape is non existent and their idea of defending is nearest man to run as quickly as can to Maradona and dive in.

How on earth folk can make out defending was better back then..... It was more physical and more likely to get injured for a player like Maradona but also much easier to get isolated v defenders and beat them on the dribble as they fly in.

Another interesting statistical tid bit. If Messi gets to at least the semifinal (which he really should now) he will play 4 more games and will overtake (26) Mathaus (25) as the player with most games at World Cups.

All that talk about CR being the first guy to play at 5 different World Cups...he sure didn't do shit on them. :lol: Crashed out in the group stages more often than not.

Yeah well can't get everything you want. Still a much easier path to the left compared to the right.

But still, I expect plenty of upsets. Somehow doubt all of France, England, Spain and Portugal will go through. Same with Netherlands, Argentina and Brazil.
