You just forgot to mention that he singlehandedly carried this team during his last few years here. In 2019 he carried this pathetic team on his back to the SF of CL. Unfortunately that was not enough. According to you he should have won it alone. One year after he left we are fighting for a TOP 4 spot in La Liga but SF of CL was not enough for some of you.

don't bother.

Most of the top tier users already left this place and more users follow through.

The GOAT years of this forum were probably 2009-2015. Lots of quality users and a lot of banter.

This forum was a true place for Barcelona fans but now it turned into a pille of shit due to the trolls. It feels like those neutral football news sites where every fan can comment and 98% of the comments are absolute trash tier / toxic.

In the end it will be 4 trolls + 2 RM fans doing all the talking around here.

He had a good game, he had few great passes but the problem is you are comparing 35y old Messi with 27y or 30y old Messi and that's where all the problems start.

Mate he won the fuking balon d'or just a few months ago, no shit his standards will be high. At current rate, there is no way messi is better than Mbappe and heck maybe even Neymar. You could legit make arguments that PSG would've been better off with a proper striker tonight than Messi.

Agree, Valverde deserves more respect for what he did here.

To be fair Valverde indeed deserves more respect especially for his first season. However, he managed the team horribly in Liverpool and Rome. If he had bigger balls we would have probably won CL in 2019 as Messi was unbelievable that year.

Tru but we’ve seen since then how messed up that squad really was.

Valverde’s first season was incredible. Second was underrated too.

He?s in the ?Beckham? stage of his career, he?s still a demon wihen the ball is in his feet, capable of finding anyone and putting them in a 1v1 or in a scoring position, still got the best left food in the game. But, it?s clear his legs have slowed down, he will not take the ball and try to dribble 3 players, he needs to time his sprints and that is expected.

Messi football IQ is out of this world, his positioning on the pitch and ability to read the game is second to none, It?s just this team is not built around Leo and it shows in the game patterns, at Barca alot of the plays involved Messi touching the ball and mostly finishing it for about 10+ years, this PSG team caters to Mbappe and his playstyle.

Anyways, he?s still breath taking, the way he touches the ball and sprays it, brilliant, that one moment in which he had his back turned and then immediately spotted Mbappe making the run and pinging it to Mbappe without overhitting it?.thats incredible.

Us football fans need to enjoy the remaining years of both Messi and CR7 careers, we were lucky to witness both of them in their primes, incredible players, the type that I dare to say wont ever come again, once in a lifetime and we got both of them at the same time not even Haaland or Mbappe will come close to those two.

You're welcome
Bro he can't run 90 mins and he gets mad when he is subbed so he has to walk around.

I think messi can do 90 minutes playing intensively. But he will need to give up on 2 games to get himself together again.

But at this point psg do need to consider if they do want to play someone more physical. Maybe an argument for messi to play is its santiago bernabeu.

Of course 35y old Messi is not better than 23y old Mbappe. Why would you think that? It's like saying that Jordan from Wizards was better than Kobe Bryant in 2002.

What's your point? To not hold him to the high standards of other players? Then why even nominate him for balon d'or?

because most messibois here think he is, and because he is the reigning ballon dor winner--doesnt that mean anything?
