I prefer labelling Messi best of his generation, which is the fairest way to make such a statement. Different generations, different styles and dynamics in football. But what has always amazed me is Leo's consistency in brilliance throughout the years, from 2007 to 2019 he dominated the game in spectacular fashion. It's only comparable with Pele's dominance from 1958-1970, but still he had Garrincha covering for him early in his career. The other GOAT Maradona peaked for about 8 years from 1982-1990 and then his drug abuse took its toll.

Then why is the '21 BdOr a mockery. As far as I know, Chelsea won the CL and las I checked Lewa doesn't play for them.

To much noise is made about Lewa not winning it, like it was the biggest robbery ever. Many greater players than him, never were on the podium, let alone win, but are not crying about it, like he and his fans do.

95% of what's in this vid at club level (NT aside) is actually highlights of his actions during the 4 month spell (Jan - April '21) that the team under Koeman played the best football since ages, and
not only Messi, but everyone from Pedri to FDJ to Dembele were good. Even fuck'n Griezzy was decent during that spell.

It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to think that a 4 month spell, however good it is, is worthy of a Ballon D' Or, that 'should' (supposedly) indicate the standout player of a calendar year
