It goes without saying that if you top the xG difference and didn't win the League in the end, there was something fundamentally wrong in your conversion rate

The 2nd graph shows the upward trend (lines) in both xG diff and Goal diff over the course of the season.
If you except the collapse at the end, there was a clear improvement in the metrics of the tram

The tram went out of its rail at the end of the season, when they quite luckily were in the race despite Atletico having such an advantage from early on :)

Most of the season, the green filled parts, Barcelona outscored their xG, mostly because of Messi I reckon. It was quite extreme in that good run in the beginning of 2021, and Barcelona were 'unlucky' in only what 9 games.
You should show similar maps for earlier seasons, if Barcelona ever weren't in front of the xG table....

Those trend lines don't look too convincing to me...
