Referees in LaLiga

On this day 11 years ago: Bojan sent Barcelona to the CL final, but the ref had another opinion.

Blood on that referees hands

Something poetic about the BBQ and now this

? Antonio Mateu Lahoz disallowed a legal Lionel Messi goal for a non-existent offside in the 2014 La Liga title decider against Atl?tico Madrid.

? According to one of Tata Martino's staff, Lahoz apologised to the Bar?a dressing room after the match.

He is now the referee for the title decider

RFEF had a conference regarding changes in calls and punishable plays

Some links below, but all contain vids with examples so too much to summarise

https://twitter.com/rfef/status/142...5759680245248001|twgr% 5E|twcon^s1_&ref_url=

The only notable changes I see from tweets is that accidental handballs will only be called when leading directly to a goal (Cadiz example in first vid), they will not be called when the teammate has handballed and goal was scored later or in buildup.
RFEF suggests handballs are subjective and it is up to the ref to interpret what's legal or illegal.

Also suggesting refs will be told to not call soft pens as often, with an example of Alaves game in vid below

Entire conference

Sounds like this could get big

The General State Intervention accuses the RFEF of Villar of "unjustified payments" worth 267 million euros [117 of which went to the referees]
The IGAE explains that there is no traceability between accounting and bank documentation to control the money that the RFEF received from LaLiga

So far only El Mundo running the story, all other outlets silent

E: correction - COPE reporting it but no word of where the money has gone

Uncertain. Looks like no paper trail
But Villar administration between 2009-2017 so we will see where this all goes
Rubiales doesn't seem very talkative and not an erudite type either way, but will definitely be pressed on what he has or is hiding
