Referees in LaLiga

Horatio

You're welcome
Let me chime in just in case it wasn't made clear yet:

Kuipers was the referee for the first leg.

Posted in match chat. Real Madrid is on top of Manzano's list of clubs whose matches he officiated. It's not even close.

Where in parallel universe or Tunguzia is it allowed to have a ref that was caught on camera after the match carrying Real Madrid shopping bags to officiate any of their matches, let alone fix it so that his favourite club is on top of his list of matches he was in charge.

And then there is that record Madrid has with him officiating.

All in our heads though. Math is a liar. It's dubious call here and there, few minutes of stolen time, etc. Just strange coincidences and conspiracies by Barca fans.

Football should adopt 2 things from other sports:
1. Use basketball rule to stop the clock when the game is interrupted because of injury or (like yesterday) when referee has technical issues with his equipment. Current system is too dependent on referee's timekeeping.
2. Use tennis rule to allow player challenges to invoke VAR. Current system is too much influenced by referee. VAR should not just be tool in the hand of the referee

I didn't think the Braithwaite one was a penalty but the Dembele foul looked like one in the days of VAR at least. The injury time was also disgusting. He spent a minute or two sorting out his ear piece or whatever it is. Average injury time for end of the game is 3 mins so it should have been 5/6. When we're hitting the bar on minute 93 those minutes make a big difference.

Refs in Europe help to bigger clubs due to money for Uefa.
Uefa wins more if big rich teams and famous players play in finals.
Or: in qualifying rounds, it is better for Uefa if Arsenal/Man Utd qualify instead of losing to a random poor team from Prague, Krakow or Tirana.

In Spain, refs help to Real because "Catalonia is not Spain" and Barcelona is openly against them.

More or less, Catalonia wanting independence is stabbing a knife at the back of all Spain the same as when I say that Messi is not that good anymore or when I talk bad against Pep.

That is a tribal thing.
You can't go against a tribe and fundamentals of that tribe and expect good things in return.

So, refs in Spain are not bad.
They aren't making random mistakes.
They are on purpose on Real's side due to politics and Catalonia's independence.

And that will change only if Barca moves to another league or if Catalonia drops independence ideas.

So: it will never change.
And don't dream or hope about fair refereeing.

You fucking prick.

You make Lahoz look like the best ref in the world by comparison

Lahoz is one of the best referees in Europe. That's why he usually gets these top games.

When both Barca and Real Madrid fans complain about Lahoz it means he's the right, neutral choice. He's just a little bit trigger happy which is the problem, but if you can keep your mouth shut it shouldn't be an issue.

Unless your name is Jordi Alba. Because then you're an incessant annoying twat who cannot shut the fuck up.

5 mins added time today with us needing to defend a lead. How much was added on against Real Madrid when we were chasing a goal? hmmmmm

Good ref today.

No complaints.

You cannot complain about added time in 10 v 11

Got in the way of 2 passes that hit him though. I thought he was good but 5 mins was quite a lot with no goals in the half. Just highlighting how ridiculous the extra time was vs Real.
