11 - Raphinha

If Leeds go down tomorrow they should be making that 25m offer to trigger his release clause by Monday evening.

Not that it matters anymore but I doubt we could even pay his clause right now so would need to negotiate with Leeds either way.

Wonder what Leeds will ask now though. Obviously they will let him go to a big club if his wishes are to go.

Should it be us, I can see them being OK with a structured plan like City with Ferran. They may see a long term benefit in a relationship with Barcelona in terms of younger / tier 2 players being able to move their way.

So 40m ish? Roughly double what they paid a few years back.

Talking about Leeds, they'll sign Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg. He can also play as an AMC but maybe they see him as a replacement for Raphinha.

Raphinha has taken a step forward, which could be definitive, and has informed Leeds United of his desire to play at Bar?a next season. His professionalism in the final stretch of the season has been left beyond any doubt and this can help negotiating his departure. [sport]

Bar?a are sure Raphinha will end up at the Camp Nou. They believe the Brazilian's price tag hasn't skyrocketed after Leeds United's survival in the Premier League. The English outfit also look to be receptive to the idea of a player entering the operation. [md]

Well he is one of the best players in the EPL and plays on the right so
replaces Dembele

He will fail if Xavi expects him to hug touchline and cut back to his left and cross with no real options for overlaps and combinations.

Very good signing if can get him in set up that suits him.. otherwise same old story of Barca buying players that excelled playing one way and then asking them to change way play.

Reports are Leeds have set a price of 55m for him. Could probably negotiate it down a bit and maybe even further by including a player. But still far from the 25m relegation clause unfortunately. Don't think he'll join.

In a normal market negotiating down from 55m for Raphinha is fair value.

In this market we're selling Fabio Blanco to make a few ruples and MD will be reporting that Alex Collado is our new signing.

Won't be too disappointed if he won't join tbh. Don't think he's all that good. Problem is we seemingly don't have any alternative to him. Again putting all eggs in one basket which we've already done so many times and it usually backfired as we either overpaid for the player we wanted (something we can't do now) or didn't bring anyone at all.

Agreed. But to be fair, I don't really see what there is on the market at a respectable price and experience to replace (ideally improve) on what Dembele brought for the phase with Dembele.

Here is a list of our most accessible options and those options are limited.

Di Maria on a free?
Mahrez with a overpriced payment plan from City?
Ask America to fund the signing of Viktor Tsygankov?

*shudder*
