With its flaws, the xP show these expected points for the top 4 so far this season:

68,54 Barcelona
61,74 Real Madrid
59,39 Atletico Madrid
59,37 Sevilla

So all four have overacheived on points taken so far.

Barcelona on expected 79p for 38 games, Real Madrid 71p, if these xP expected points were accurate.
Both ending on 81p in reality if they keep the same points per game (2,15) they have had so far.

Atletico drawing wouldnt have changed the equation too much for us anyway. We'd still probably need to win our next two and hope RM drops points

This. If Atl drew then Real Madrid could of gone top today with a win, and only 4 games remaining. Painful.

Our game next week versus Atletico Madrid is at 16:15 CET on Saturday. Real Madrid-Sevilla is at 21:00 on Sunday.

I think that plays into the advantage of us (or Atletico) if we can somehow win the next two games.

Hope Osasuna can grab a point at least. They are comfortable in mid table. Not much to play for at this point.
