27 shots by City. Impressive, not only passing the ball around in slow-speed looking toothless but also knowing very well what to do with it.

Villa got tactics spot on and were leaving City wide players one on one to then defend the cross.

Mings was too bothered with trying to look class than just defending. Had a few moments before the goal where almost gave City a goal.

City were never as bad as was being made out couple months back and can see Pep is trying to get them more balanced.

City are still suspect defensively and they have major problems converting their chances. EPL is wide open this year. United, City, Liverpool, even Leicester maybe with a shot to win it.

City have had by far best defence in league since Dias/Stones partnership got together. Something like 2 goals in 9/10 games.

Their numbers do look good. Maybe they've found the right formula finally.

Same formula been using for majority of season just was work in progress. Stones being as good as he has been will be a welcome surprise for them though.

Dias has been immense.

Parker doing a superb job with Fulham.

If he manages to keep them up after the squad they had at start that is one all time great EPL manager feat.

United love a comeback so long way to go in this one.

Anguissa is some player for them.

City has a ridiculously low xG conceded this season in all competitions. Something like 14.7 cumulative xG A in EPL, and 1.7 (!!!!) cumulative xG A in UCL
Since mid last season when Lilo become Pep's assistant they changed their approach to a more defensive-control oriented one.
It took some time to work and click, but now it seems that it does.
Not so enjoyable in the eye, not hammering opponents anymore, not creating dozen of chances every game, but on the contrary
being super safe at the back.

Big favorites IMO for both CL and EPL from now on.

No.
There is no favorite for CL, you can guess its between 3-5 clubs, but there is very rarely one favorite.
