Liverpool is in a total freefall, even losing to Everton at home now.

its shocking. they have a very solid squad, even with all the injuries.

for all that is wrong w pep's approach to football, he has never had a league collapse like this

West Ham aren't bad, but letting Lingard score is still kind of embarassing.
Mou is probably gone in the summer.

At the same time, you lose your CBs and have to put your midfielders there. You are weakening two of your biggest strenghts. I think any team would suffer in this kind of predicament.

I'm not complaining though, it is a great sight.

Looking at City vs Arsenal. They are so good tactically. Especially looking at the positioning of Zinchenko. Every time the ball is on the right, which is City's most productive side by far so far, City look to move their formation towards that side to generate superiority from overloads. Zinchenko's positional adjustment almost transitions him to a DM position.

When you look at us, everyone keeps roughly the same rigid positions no matter where the ball is. Very few combinations, no overloads, just bland football waiting for some individual magic from Messi or Dembele.

City been playing like that most of season even when folk were claiming they were done and Peps time was up.

Cancelo been like a DM/CM on the ball since the start of this season and dominating in there.

It's like watching a training match where City are just toying with a bunch of amateurs.

Guess it was too early when some hipsters were putting Klopp above Guardiola all time. I may have been slightly guilty of this too but such is reactionary judgement at times.

Guardiola has helmed a top 3 (IMO the best) club football side of all time.

He's been insanely dominant in the league everywhere he's gone.

He's underachieved in the CL, yes, but he can correct this with a CL with City (doing so would put him among the top 3 club managers ever and arguably best ever).

City improved as season progressed. Their first months weren't that great.

Also, when people say Pep's time is up, it's not because his tactics aren't spot on, it's because he can't make the players perform as well as in the past. Similar problems with Klopp.

Klopp and Pep are 10/10 managers.

Television here made the same point as you, about how fluid City are, switching positions etc.
Then they showed a longer sequence, and most players were walking, keeping their positions. Once in a while (at the right time) one player would meet which would lead to perfectly synced movements relating to the initial movement, but they still kept all spaces occupied. Most players took their time with the ball, confident that the path would open up with patience.
But they generally were much more apart from each other compared to Barcelona, using more of the pitch, not getting in each others way, always relating to each other, and filling open spaces when they appeared.

Talking about Zinchenko, where would he rank among LBs in the world?
