Pedri lovers have arrived:lol: Useless player. After the Koeman period, he will find his place in the teams he deserves like Levante, Osasuna, Betis and etc.

He like majority of rest of team will look better when there is pace up top and teams cant park on half way line and pressure in numbers like that 60/70 yds from goal.

Yep and when we have coach who can build some sort of system for these players.

Which system?

Half of our players are born to play classical Barca TikiTaka and the other half are good at chaotic, fast, direct football.

The coach can build a system only if he sells half of our team.
But which half to sell?
Barca DNA slow buildup boys?
Or guys who want a faster football?

This is Barca, we will never sell Barca DNA guys.

1. it worked in 2009 and 2011
2. socios need Catalans to be happy
3. Barca needs Catalan Barca DNA boys in the days of indenpendency turmoils

So, no, there won't be any system anytime soon.
If Xavi returns, we will probably see even bigger step back towards the past with 8 slow and weak La Masia kids paired with new signings like Olmo and similar.

Wins in 2009 and 2011 will remain the biggest burdain in a modern football history because we won't be able to move away from it for the next 50 years.

Fast, direct football is not part of Barca's identity and never will be. We will always play possession football, it's what makes Barca what it is and not some other random club. We should stick to our identity, not chase the ''meta'' that is currently successful. Every team has its highs and lows, right now is clearly a low for us but we'll be back.

That's the same what Brazilian fans are saying.
They'll probably win the next world cup around 2158 with their style of football.

Just a question, would you stick to "our football" even if we would lose for 20-30 years in a row?

Let me guess, the answer is: no! We can't lose for 20 years. We are losing due to bad coaches. If we would get the right coach, we would fly again, because IF EXECUTED PROPERLY nothing can stop the type of a divine, eternal football from 2008-2012. It will work even 500 years from now because that is the best type of football ever invented in a football's history

If anything, thanks for the laugh in the early morning, mate

Evertyhing in life is always changing and evolving.
Brazil was the best 50 years ago.
Teams played with a sweeper 40-60 years ago.
Italian Catanaccio was awesome 30-40 years ago.
442 was awesome 20 years ago.
Gks didn't need to play with feet until 10 years ago.
Short, weak, technical midfielders used to make rondos and win everything 10-15 years ago.
None of these things from above will return into a fashion ever again.

This never ending cycle of rambling about Barca DNA failing us feels like it's from some parallel universe because in this reality we just suck at everything

There is no way to judge a "style" if it isn't even remotely noticeable. It's not like you can only play for possession with turtles like old Busi, and the style certainly doesn't require complete bums like RB Roberto or Luuk de fucking Jong.

As long as the team has weaknesses in basically any area from "Barca DNA" shortcomings like height and strength all the way to fundamentals like intensity, organized defending and even the things you'd expect us to be good at like technique it seems rather pointless to go ballistic over the style or one 18 year old kid. Pedri shouldn't even be forced into a starting position at his age but this is just the shambolic state of the squad because the current alternatives are bigfoot and Puig lmao. Same with Garcia, he has some glaring weaknesses but again he was an 20 year old on a free transfer who would make an alright squad player worth trying out but the way bigger problem is that the players in prime age that should be ahead of him (Lenglet, no-knee-Umtiti) just suck.

It just sounds incredibly stubborn to be this cought up in a fixed idea of a certain style and attach the chances of winning or losing simply to that. Execution is key and our execution outright sucks both on the pitch and the transfer market so no matter how we play that has to be addressed either way. There is always room for change and innovation even within a certain style, but it needs proper execution. It's not like false 9, all short technical players, 80% possession was the standard for us before Pep and going forward there can always be adjustments without changing the approach from scratch.
