Lionel Messi - v7

If you told Bartomeu already since the start of the season, the coronavirus and a strange season is the worst excuse ever. So either you are lying or just plain stupid not to put it in writing.

Xavi, Henry, Marquez,Mascherano etc, all didn't have it in writing tbh, Only Iniesta. And all were allowed to leave on their own terms.
Him being stupid to not put it on paper isn't far fetched.

It is very simple. Messi was told that he can leave at the end of the season if he wants and he still can. The difference is that before there was a clause were he could have left for free, but now there isn?t and a good offer needs to be on the table. Why is it difficult for Messi to understand?

Messi will end up retiring here now imo

Next board will do everything in their power to keep him happy and will use that as a political promise. just hope this doesn't mean Suarez stays

This is how I am imagining Messi in a 2021/2022 season, if he stays:

He will be sitting in a chair in the middle of the pitch, he won't run or move.
Yet, all of our teammates will still pass the ball to him in every action.
He will get up from his chair only to take a penaldo or a free kick.
He will still score 10-15 goals per season.

Contract extension: 200m wages per year

Read the interview, Barto only accepts 700M aka release clause

Messi said things that people wanted him to say for 3 years, and same people are mad at him.
I don't fault him at anything he said tbh, the whole talking of "he should be self critical" is a pure madness that should not be even taken seriously, like yeah we all love to go in public on an going issue to self criticize ourselves

Totally agree.

He didn't say anything that was wrong.

We're on this forum daily ranting about how terrible the management is, lack of sporting project, poor transfers etc...

Because I think Messi thought he could leave at the end of the season no matter what. He honestly probably thought the June 10th wasn't valid anymore due to COVID. He honestly thought Bartomeu would stick to his word of letting him go at the end of the season. But Messi should know how much of a lying piece of shit Bartomeu is.

The issue is that it is WAY TOO LATE now. Dude wasted the last few years of his peak with this fukin anime villain of a president Bartomeu. Why didn't he do this interview after Anfield or Roma? Did Bartomeu lie and tell him "don't worry messi neymar is coming any day now"? Bartomeu is a snake worse than Rossell, didn't messi know this for the past 6 years?

All of this is excellent news. Now we move to stage 2, no more waiting for him to leave for free .. if any club wants him they will need to pay a good sum.

I can see City making an offer and him leaving
