Why on earth are we not just keeping him around in the squad or as sub .
He is a fabulously talented player and you never lose that .

He is a luxury player at this point. And current Barca can't afford wages of luxury players. They'll try to loan him out with a club paying his wages at all costs.

Barca did sign already 4 players. No one left until now, yet salary cap is smaller than it was last year, when we couldn't registrate Memphis.

We'll "lose" our 300m signings for free because nobody wants to pay for them. Both of them in the infirmary too, one getting ready to come out, the other one freshly walking in for the 10th time in 3 years.

Oh, and one of them scored 2 goals against us in a 2-8 loss . Can't make this shit up.

Paying him too much, getting older and now injured.

Maybe we could of sold him last season for a low fee, but Koeman wanted him and Coutinho wanted to prove himself. Or that's how the narrative goes.

You can never pay more then 80mil for player like Coutinho in his prime.

Barto made it double.

He is good player ,nothing more, played for team that was finishing 5th or lower for many years.

Even under Kloop he was sub.

I have read an article some time ago where they broke down what he has costed the club per goal contribution.

Discounting the loaning fee Bayern has paid for him, Coutinho has costed the club 126,5M. That's 1,5M per game he has played for the club so far and with 23 goals and 14 assists over 3,4M per goal contribution.

Let's not forget how his market value plummeted since then.

Dembele comes a bit "cheaper" with 1,14M per game and 30 goals and 21 assists in 118 appearances - 2,64M per goal contribution.

Update

Barcelona prefer to loan out Coutinho in order to save on his salary, but even though there are some clubs interested in him, at this time it's not ruled out that he can continue at Barca. Koeman still likes him a lot. [sport]

We may have no choice but to keep him. I doubt any team wants to gamble on his wages regardless if it's a loan or not. He's been out for a while with an injury.

He showed better things than Griezman the little he played this season before the injury.

I still think it's better to sell him, but it's unfair to discuss his exit before Griezman's given the latter's salary and how much he flopped
