Ousmane Dembélé

Kick and run works against crap defenders. In the big level, you can't drop defenders just by running. Because you face fullbacks like Walker, who as blunder-prone as he is, takes Dembele and puts him in his pocket like a pack of cigarettes.

In other words, Dembele can be a good flat track bully at best. When the big boys are playing, he'll be handled easily because his ball control is a 6/10 and that's being very generous. There are fullbacks and central defenders in the bigger teams that are more technically proficient than Dembele. No joke, I think someone like Ramos, Marquinhos, and other modern defenders are more technical than him.

In a team that plays simpler football in counters like PSG in the CL he will be great.

Hell, look at how many chances he missed against PSG in Paris

But to get those chances he blitzed their defence again and again.

He is going to look top tier once he leaves Barcelona and joins a modern football time.

Like a goddamn goji berry.

He's probably dumb enough to join a team like Juventus where he'll face the same problems

For all the hate he gets (much of it warranted, attitude etc) the amount of times he beats his man, flying forward at speed only to look up and see a gassed Messi/Suarez jogging into the box late leaving it totally empty is depressing to watch. no winger will flourish here if our forwards have such piss poor movement

Almost as disappointed as the entire city of Barcelona watching him whiff on important chances his team mates work their ass off to create for him.

A lot of wingers have flourished at Barcelona but then again they weren't mediocre players.

You are talking about Theo Walcott mate, not Dembele.
He is anything but throwing the ball in a straight direction and running.
Every dribble he does involves changing of direction, plus all the technique required to hit the ball with as much power as necessary in order to cover the exact amount of space needed before the next defender appears

Mate, do you get that this is your own definition of dribbling?
And its rather very specific in that it concerns the 'how' and not the 'what' is being done
As such, it excludes tons of footballers who can dribble.

You like Messi and Iniesta style of dribbling. Fine. I like them too.
That does not mean in any possible world that Dembele is not an elite dribbler, if he has that success rate.

Maybe he is a dribbler that does not dribble the way you want him too.
Who gives a shit about they way you want him to dribble?

You may consider Traore as top 5 greatest dribbler in history, base on success rate and number. That talks a lot.

Dembele is far from elite tier. And he will never hit it with his technique.

I don't get this argument. It's like you're watching a completely different team. There's countless, countless, and countless of footage of Dembele fluffing his passing in the final 3rd when there're options available to him in the box. Not to mention him consistently fucking up when there's no one but the goalkeeper in front of him. To suggest Barcelona's movement isn't "good enough" (with players like Griezmann and Messi...) for Dembele to flourish is hilariously laughable.

Also we already know what he's like in a team with speedsters, France 2018 is calling you and it'd like to show you Dembele's average to poor performances for them.

For sure that his teammates are not as fast as him but he has spent like 4 years here and still can not find the rhythm, then it is his problem.
