Ansu Fati (loaned to Brighton)

I had been looking into the doctors involved to see what areas of research they focus on since the holy grail of meniscus repair science is in bioengineering. I cannot tell from the French doctor but he seems to be an advocate for preserving as much of the meniscus as possible - so, at the very least, I would guess his involvement suggests a focalized/hybrid approach (Hence Dr. Maestro (Galician) too)

There's a real nice video of Dr. Cottet (If you speak/understand French) where he talks about meniscus repair

Sounds like that's the plan assuming this is true:

I think it probably is. These Catalunya Radio folks don't spam rumors or reports and have always had great sources within the club. Especially Carreras who hosted one of the Presidential debates too.

Except when they called the wrong Marquinhos instead of the player from PSG and the guy gave his consent to sign for Barca .

Not only sackable offense,
Barca board should sue the hell out of Dr Cugat, independently of Ansu and his family who should do the same.
We are talking about destruction a major financial asset of the club.

I hate to put it this way but this is nonsense - this is medicine, not television/movies which means it does not equate to malpractice. You cannot sue an orthopedic surgeon for failing to ensure a perfectly repaired meniscus when there is no holy grail of repairing a torn meniscus

Many imagine such a treatment a little too easy. The human body is a high-performance "product" with individual circumstances. The response to treatment/therapy varies greatly from person to person. In other words: What works for one player can be a wrong approach for another player. The speed at which a competitive athlete's body heals/rehabilitates depends on an enormous number of factors.

Different doctors therefore prefer different treatment approaches, depending on what they think is right. Think of it like choosing your orthopedic surgeon. You go to a doctor, the treatment does not work. Then you get the opinion of a second specialist and want to have his treatment carried out. It is the same with Fati and his injury at the moment.
In addition, different doctors, despite the same specialty, also have special areas in which they are considered luminaries. You always have to keep that in mind.

Finally, it should be emphasized once again that every body reacts differently to stress and therapy. You can also assume that a world club like FC Barcelona does not treat with young medical professionals. They are highly trained and highly decorated medical professionals.

With Fati it was also the case that they wanted to try out all available therapy methods before deciding on this step of the operation. A (partial) removal of the meniscus can also have long-term consequences that are not to be despised ... something you would like to avoid with a young player like him.

I agree with that.
That being said, I think it is time to move on from Dr.Cugat
Nothing but love for the old man, but he is almost 71 and being from family full of doctors , I can tell you that is the age where you should look for someone younger.
I am saying that while being someone who hates people being ageist. :(
We have been working with him since 1992, when he was just 42 of age. Time for us to look for the next Dr.Cugat, it is inevitable

Sadly I do think age comes with decline, unless it's a person of workaholic tendencies. People tend to start taking life easier as they age, meaning they are not as focused on their career as before. Also age might be factor in performing but not sure about that when performing surgeries.

I agree with this as a universal claim.

But when it comes to a surgeon in particular who has a very specific track record of performing specific operations with specific decisions taken in order to rush back the player quickly and not to give the knee the necessary time to adjust and recover,
then I think responsibility and blame should be sought

Cugat 1st surgery was repair surgery, so he didn't do it for sake of rushing a player.
