Makes it worse for Spurs is that the Japanese lad that went to Arsenal for 10m less has looked very good in first two games.

Supposedly Spurs gave up on him to pay more for Emerson.

Spurs lost by 3 again. Emerson did not have a bad game. At times he is looking for the foul and easily goes down. Last season in PL you might have got the free kick but not this. Spurs for some reason leave him exposed 1 on 1, hence his problem with Zaha, that any FB would have.
His detractors at Spurs appear to be those that think a defender has been bought , who is no better than what they already have. I do not think so. Emerson is holding his own in the PL, sadly in a poor Spurs side.

Virtually all full backs in every team get left one on one these days. Bar teams parking the bus.

Emerson needs to learn to defend better or wont last.

Looked dodgy in first two games but early days.

He is already down to the reserve bench ... came on late yesterday and clattered into someone to give a free kick in a very dangerous place

Looking forward how he'll do in Conte's 3-5-2.

Conte already wanted to sign him for Inter as Hakimi's replacement last summer.

Emerson playing well. Spurs fans have warmed to him and think that a problem position in their side, has now been solved. Conte will improve him.

Should have kept him. Roberto should leave ASAP, Mingueza is not good enough and Dest should only be a backup RB/LB/RW at most imo as well.

The only thing we did with money we received for him is bringing Luuuuuuk and we'll probably bring more useless players in January.

Has to be said, this guy would probably be the best RB at Barcelona if he performs the way he has been at Spurs.
