What his role will be according to MD article..

In addition to reinforcing the area of the technical secretariat, currently made up by Ramon Planes and Mateu Alemany, as football director, the intention of the Bar?a president is that Jordi can act as an interlocutor with the coach of the first team to leave the 'cruyffista' stamp on the staff, as well as being their advisor in matters of reinforcements, both for the staff and for the bench.

This fucking club.

For those in doubt. A Cryuff stamp.

So basically a made-up position without any tangible benefits offered. He is hired because of his last name.

No problem if it's just PR, perception is important. But he seems like a great guy, smart and considerate. He has some very good achievements as well (outside of coaching).

Apparently he is making us hire Antonio Cordon, who is leaving Real Betis. They worked together in Ecuador NT.

He has a great CV as Sporting Director, joined Villarreal as SD in 99, when they were relegated to Segunda, and left them in 2016, seems like he was, kind of, their own Monchi.

He then moved to Monaco for one year, which they won the league. And his last job is Betis, whom he arrived in 2020 and brough Pelligrini with him too,

Seems like a good replacement for Ramon Planes if he indeed arrives.

Betis made good recruitments this year. I think Abner, Luiz Henrique and Luis Felipe would all be decent squad options for us.

Makes sense for him, he'll probably have more power there (Xavi is the main man for transfers here tbh) and ofc money to spend.

Officially he is the SD, but I am not sure what exactly his role has been. So to me it is hard to gauge what sort of impact his departure will have on us.

Just don't want Laporta to fill his as well as Alemany's role with buddies.

You're welcome
Can’t really tell what he has meant for the club. Think most SD would have at least done the same.
