4 - Ronald Araújo

He is below average in these lower-tempo games where his lack of on-ball ability hinders him quite a bit.

But if Kounde nails down a spot as the undisputed #1 CB on the team, I'm fine with rotating Christensen and Araujo as his partner depending on the opponent. And then Eric Garcia is good for being the #4 CB.

His on the ball ability wouldn't be a problem if our false DM wouldn't hide from receiving the ball.

People make a bigger problem from his passing than it really is. He is still the clubs best defender, and that is worth more than fancy passing, which won't be a problem if he is surounded with the right players.

No, it was his horrible tackle that gave them their first chance. It should have been a goal tbh.

If referring to Rayo's 1v1 vs Ter Stegan, a lot of defenders in that situation would've tried to defend the faked shot by the left foot especially after catching up at high speed.

Many defenders don't even have the speed to catch up to defend the initial fake.

Start watching football. Look at all the CL winners in the past 6 years, and ask yourself would they rather take Araujo with average passing or Busi the great passer but shit at everything else.

You're welcome
He was bad damn. And not just put on RB not his position bad. A lot of bad controls of the ball. Missed intercepting a pass that almost put rayo player in front of Ter Stegen. Soon after fumbled again and Rayo got one on one with ter stegen and he had that great save.

Definitely Busquets.

I don't care about the Champions League winner. Real Madrid have won 5 Champions Leagues in recent years, but have they been the best team in the world every time? No, 4 times out of 5 they weren't the best.

Neither Pep, nor Tuchel, nor Klopp will ever invite Araujo to their team. Never.

No big team in the world would touch Busi of the past 6 years, no elite coach would even look at him, you are deluded if you think anybody outside of Barcelona rates him. Madrid fans are hoping he renews and stays at Barca, that shows how much they rate him.

Also both Klopp and Tuchel were interested in Araujo. If he played for Liverpool, Bayern or Real people would be drooling over him now.

Start watching some modern football, it is not 2011 anymore. Busi was the centrepiece of every humiliation the club suffered in the last 6 years.

He is not an RB, what the fuk is Xavi thinking?

He doesnt particularly rate Araujo on the ball and thinks teams target him will be one issue.

The other will be he thinks Dest is shite and wanted Roberto renewed despite not really rating him much either it seems.

A couple of bad games at RB (!) is enough for people to start turning on him. He should never be sold. A Kounde + Araujo CB partnership will be elite for years.

P.S. Granted, his ball-playing skills have always been a worry. He showed improvement in that area last year, seemingly offset by Xavi utilizing him at RB. Not even every elite centreback can adapt to playing on the wing, I'm sure guys of similar build like Van Dijk or Koulibaly would also look lost at RB. It's not as much about the ball playing skills as it is about playing a role that just isn't yours.

Tbh I watxhed 99% of Araujo games, he is not bad on the ball.

I don't know what do you want from CB, but he is decent on the ball.

He is not RB obviously, but damn people are talking like he is nissing every pass on CB position.

If our midfield was good, someone would be free to get the pass.

Garcia abd Christansen didn't give 10 forward passes, but again Araujo is "bad with his passing".
