seems that neyrmar isn't that lazy after all. mbappe and messi with decent numbers when compared with like of salah. maybe mbappe could squeeze another 0.5/0.7 miles per game.

wingers or wide midfielders are the biggest workhorses. no surprise here.

more numbers, this time from uefa's official website - https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/statistics/players/

these contain updated data, including this round. and take into account all distance covered throughout this season's group games, regardless of minutes/matches played.

most notable forwards in the competition:
dusan tadic - 56.5km in 450 minutes
reus - 54km in 436 minutes
depay - 50.5km in 435 minutes
carrasco - 50.3km in 384 minutes
vinicius - 49.6km in 449 minutes
lewandowski - 47.9km in 439 minutes
benzema - 46.6km in 439 minutes
dzeko - 45.7km in 391 minutes
salah - 42.8km in 400 minutes
neymar - 42.1km in 360 minutes
lautaro - 41.5km in 376 minutes
mbappe - 39.1km in 410 minutes
ronaldo - 38.9km in 431 minutes
luis suarez - 36.7km in 326 minutes
chiesa - 35.2km in 336 minutes
messi - 33.1km in 331 minutes
mane - 31.6km in 272 minutes

but true numbers don't interest anyone. it's all about the memes and screenshots to fit a narrative.

Could walk that distance in 90 minutes. That is not the point.

Front three for PSG dont press consistently as a unit.

Could see it all game yesterday and it was being higlighted throughout.

PSG front three wandered about most of time and then would have the odd mad dash back indivdually. Rarely if at all working together to either press or get back in position.

PSG own fans see it. Just about any analysis of game last night highlights it.

Pure denial.

let's look at how certain players press. since you're so sure they just walk around doing nothing:

mbappe seems like the laziest. and where they press is dependent on opponent. city forwards/wide midfielders press the most in the whole competition. real's forwards also have great numbers, but they had 4 games against shitty opponents.

so neymar and messi are on par with most forwards. mbappe not so much(but he is the striker).

to me it seems a problem to be solved by the manager if they don't press cohesively.

Go look ant any analysis of game last night.

Look at what PSG fans are saying.

That front three dont press as a unit no matter how hard you try to deny it and they dont track back consistently either.

Believe what you want.

If you think those stats back you up. Go for it. All been discussed before.

not denying that. where did i wrote it?

actually i'm pretty sure it is either a problem of having all three together on the field or the fact that pochettino doesn't know how to set them up tactically or teach them how to press collectively.

tv/internet analysis and what fans say it's kind of bullshit when everyone is laughing at neymar for being a slouch. but in reality he runs and presses the most(by far) out of those three and is on par with other elite forwards.

i'm not saying that they do smart pressing or that they are on par with pep's team, but clearly there are other issues that hamper them. like shite midfield or pochettino's tactics.

i guess it's easier to write everything off and just laugh at them for being lazy.

The three of them wont act as a unit and press or get back the way they should.

Same as Tuchel before him the power lies with the players and little can do about it other than leave.

Whole of Europe is pointing out how little that front three do off the ball and issues it caused last night. There were times City had ball in defence and three of them are almost all central.. a couple of them make a token effort to 'press' City get ball past them and they just stop. Happened constantly.

There is not a coach out there that will get those three to press as a unit. As if just say it to Messi and he starts doing that. It is on the players that make it impossible not the coach.

Tuchel had same issue last year. Adding Messi just makes it worse.

There may be coaches who can come up with better idea of how to mask the fact they wont press or track back but the coach who just won last CL couldnt.

Posters like you are why England hasn't won a major trophy in 50+ years. And why the entire world enjoys seeing your suffering.

Absolutely loving supporting City. Qualified for knockout stages nine current seasons in a row, better than any other English team . Finals of Europe for England is a huge improvement. Pep is a superb manager. I love watching City play. They played some dross for about 40 years but the last 15 years wonderful. Loving my football.

Trust you feel better tomorrow and post more positively. Have a good day.

Out of curiosity, do you support your local team or are you from Manchester?
