Sancho is not an academy product of City. Neither is Brahim or Angelino, they were all mecenaries like Bernabe

City simply doesn't produce them, partly because there is no analogous Segunda league for them to get seasoned in which Pep has talked about

Yes they are by any measure other than the puritan one where a player must have been born in City's kit to be an academy product. They spent 2+ of their formative years in the academy.

That kind of shallow metric is commonplace for those who know nothing about developing talent. 2 years. I guess Kubo will soon be a youth player of RM too

The term academy product is really flawed anyway and there is no consistent rule for it.
Busquets/Puyol/Pedro has arrived at the age of 17, and we consider them Barca product, while considering Cesc,Alba & Eric Garcia as La Masia product too for whatever reason, despite leaving in younger age than the former players joined Barca.
Most youth player plays in many clubs anyway, it is usually the one that gave them the first team debut that will benefit from them the most.

As for Foden, he seem to be the first academy player , that he didn't coach in B team, that has developed into something long term for his own team.
Good for him and City, this generation of English players could be distained for big things.

Yh meaning for the sake of consistency and good faith, it is only sensible to look how long each player spent where during their formative teenage years in youth football and go from there. Applying flat "he started with Malaga therefore he's a Malaga product than City" is totally devoid of sense.

Why nobody here talk about him??? De Bruyne is always brillant but Foden is such a big improvement this season for Pep. Never see any English talent like him since Rooney at Everton.

Great future possible for him, we'll see what sort of aspirations he has in him to continue to develop his game further

Interestingly enough, shares a number of similarities with Silva in terms of size, style of play & emergence - if he can reach those heights alone will be a massive achievement
