I don't know. Those 3 years of Neymar could be he lost motivation. Seemed like he had his eyes set on a Barca return and lost joy of the game a bit so stopped caring about who is PSG main man.
Seems different now.

Spot on. Messi and ney are in world cup zone, so more and more things like this would be seen on and off the pitch.
