Its not just the current generation though, Ronaldo had plenty of skills too, but he abandoned that playstyle a good number of years ago.

Neymar was the chosen one. He could have so much more in his career. Shame.
Doesn't count, as he isn't really a footballer anymore.
Hazard despite being a great dribbler never had the production of Neymar, Robben, Ribery or Ronaldo.
He had almost everything in his book when he left Chelsea and I honestly thought he'd take that last step at Madrid and become a regular point provider.

Player pools come in cycles. The major players that came between 99 and 09 were stacked, it no surprise the well ran out. But you also have to know the game has changed in many ways now. Players are not being developed to put on a show. They made to be efficient, fundamental, and to stat pad. Really the Pep Barca era was the turning point to many negatives in football. We reached a peak with Messi, CR7, and Pep's Barca.
